I might be interested and know a couple other guys that might want to make it. We were trying to think of when we might make another trip there.
Have to see how my new car handles the rock..
Still finishing it up...

I'll be there Tuesday to setup my booth, but have to go back to Farmington that afternoon. Be back early Wednesday morning. I'm looking forward to it. It sounds like Kyle and Michelle have done quite a good job with the Rally.
See you all there!
Just to let everyone know, there will be a desert race, The Farmington 100 in Farmington, NM. Tech Inspection will be on March 5th, Trucks/Buggies and UTVs race on Saturday March 6th and ATVs/Bikes race on Sunday March 7th.
It's being put on by New Mexico Outlaw Desert Racing. For more info, go to www.nmorl.com
I'll post more info as I get it. They usually have a good UTV class.
Be sure to get involved with blue ribbon and others. Look for media forums and opportunity to speak your mind, the more you scream the more people will begin to listen and defend.
Yeah, we're forming together up here to fight it. Hopefully bringing the BRC in will help.
I just received a letter from the BLM Land Manager that stated the signs posted in the main sand wash were improperly placed and they will be removed...Yea!
These pics and video are taken in the Glade Run Rec Area just outside of Farmington, NM. This is where they hold the W.E.Rock National Rock Crawling Championships (on those rock hills in the photos is the actual course). Pretty easy to get to, the Rec Area is just 5 blocks from my house.
Anytime any of you want to come riding up here, just drop me a PM and I'll be happy to set you up and get you out there.
Right now we are fighting the BLM Nazis and their Gestapo Rangers, they shut down over half of the rec area this past couple of weeks after another plan had been approved by the previous BLM Land guy. Guess the new guy hates UTVs and ATVs. Guess we all need to write letters to our congress telling them to get the Farmiongton BLM office to back off their BS.
Took the XTZ out this weekend for a Sunday drive. Couple of photos and a video shot with my little camera.
Video of a sandwash up a slot canyon we like running...made a couple of bobbles in the wash...what can I say, it was an off day....the terrain is a lot rougher than what you can see in the video.

Taking off from the jump. It was a short roll out jump, but we were still out jumping the quads there.
Little bit of rock crawling...
Add 1 Prowler XTZ with 2 people to the 13-15th for Moab. Maybe another RZR with 2 people too.
Anyone know of the best place to park my 5th wheel?

Well,
I finally got a chance to go thrash it....
Saturday morning, my buddies and I took a RZR and the XTZ for a ride in the desert southwest, just outside of Farmington, NM. Over 80,000 acres of BLM land with all kinds of trails from sandwashes, hillclimbs, rockclimbing and tight, twisty trails through trees.
Right off the bat, about 2 miles into the ride, we found that the fab shop had allowed the rear diff vent line to lay up under the exhaust shroud. At about 40mph, I happened to notice smoke starting to come out from the engine shroud area. We stopped and proceeded to put the fire out. A small hole had burned in the vent line bellow and allowed some diff lube to spill on to the exhaust and burn. Made the repairs and off we went again.
The front end was a bit stiff between the 8-ply tires and the shocks being cranked up just a little too much. I adjusted them down and inch and thing were much better. I found that the King Racing Shocks did a great job of nullifying the small bumps and taking the hard hits real well. It tracked quite well and pretty quick I found myself alone on the trail as the RZR was bouncing and twitching really bad trying to keep up with the XTZ. Once my buddy caught up, we swapped so I could follow the XTZ and see how the suspension was acting from behind. I noticed immediately the RZR felt less confident in the rough stuff and pretty soon wasn't able to focus on what the XTZ was doing, but rather on trying to keep the RZR on the trail and keep up with the XTZ. First chance I got, we switched back.
Then on to a fire road. Running up to 70mph I found that the XTZ had no problem outrunning the RZR as he was bumping his speed limiter at just over 60mph. Sweet, and I still had throttle left.
Then on to the hillclimbing. The RZR sat quite a bit lower than my XTZ, so I was sure he might outclimb me, but everywhere we tried, they came out about even. I did notice the RZR was doing a lot more tire spinning to get up the hills, might've been driver style though.
After that we dropped into a sandwash running up a canyon with steep side walls, kind of felt like running slot cars. The Prowler could out handle the RZR through the tight corners and had more than ample power coming out of them. Our speeds in the canyon were around 45-50mph and the Prowler felt stable and right at home doing this.
Finally, into the tight and narrow trees. My buddy was sure that his RZR would beat me through the tight areas.... not a chance, the ITP BajaCross tires dug in to the corners, the King shocks kept them down and the XTZ turned like it was on a monorail. On even the mid-turn jumps, it felt awe-inspiring, making me feel like a champion driver.
All in all, I really like the mods done to the XTZ. Everyone that drove the XTZ really liked it and wanted more. All the mods work real well together and make this a real desert performer.

Okay, it's almost done... waiting on the Quick Detach Steering Wheel from DragonFire Racing, A-Arm Bracing from UTVCrap and the low windshield from AC. Plus a few other little things that will get ironed out over the next couple of weeks.
King Shocks are mounted now. Gotta love that stance and those shocks...
Sits more aggressive now, but I need to reroute the front brake lines to counter for the increased height.

Piggyback King Shocks on the front
13.5 inches ground clearance, but I'm going to lower the shocks back down a little..
Even with the additional ground clearance, the roofline of the modified XTZ is still 1.25 inches lower than the stock XTZ.
Dose the prowler have a steel bed or plastic bed :?: . And did you use a spray in bed liner :?: . The reason I am asking is I would like to do the same to mine but i have had conflicting information that the spray in bed liner will not bond well to plastic :?: .
It has the OEM plastic bed that comes textured already. If I had to put in a bed liner, I would use Line-X. Seems to hold up really good and adhere good.
Couple more photos...
Got the ITP Beadlocks on, just waiting on the King Shocks to give it a few inches lift, and yes, it was rode hard and put away dusty...

More pics...It's not done by any means, next comes the ITP Beadlock wheels, 1/4 doors, low windshield with fold out upper, King Shocks which will lift it a couple more inches, and lots of hidden goodies..

Buddy of mine that stands way over 6ft... said it's the most comfortable fit he's ever had.
Thanks for the comments on the cage and the heads up on the photobucket... I've been having problems with them for awhile.. I was downloading some pics today and maybe that interfered with the pics showing...but I'm about ready to find another photo hosting site.
Yeah, I think the welder may have burned it too deep right there, probably have him run a second bead over it to build it up. Strength-wise, it's 1.75 OD DOM, .120 wall Tubing. More than SCORE, BITD or any other's require for this size and weight of machine. The main fab guy builds rock crawlers and desert trucks (ie: King of the Hammers, SCORE Trucks) for a living, but the guy that did some of the welds on this isn't quite as good.
But with a top speed upwards of 75mph, I wanted it strong. We installed UTVCrap frame braces into the upper round frame tubes on all four corners, are installing UTVCrap's A-Arm reinforcement kit and putting in some gusseting on the frame itself. The lower A-Arms will eventually get plate gusseting too.
Few more pics of the cage after painting and the lowered tire carrier...

Very nice Darryl! Do the new seats ride higher? Is the cage tied into the frame on the rear? What is the stock travel on the XTZ? Thanks.
Yes, the cage bolts directly to the frame in the back and the cage frame mounts elsewhere.
Stock travel is 10 inches, but the King Shocks are a bit longer with more travel, giving the XTZ a couple more inches height and 3 inches more travel.
The seats were lowered, but the Beard Super TZ seats sit a touch taller than we wanted. So we are going to rebuild the bases, but that won't be until after the W.E.ROCK Grand National Rock Championships next week. This machine will be on display along with the Baja winning Arctic Cat ThunderCat of Fines Double Racing.
