Whatever you decide, DO NOT book into the KOA near the Spanish Trail Arena. The owner will not allow you to drive your UTV back and forth between your motorhome and the arena. He doesn't support our sport and is pretty a jack arse.

On our way home we stopped at Whitewash sand dunes for a short ride. This place is another sand hollow with more washes to ride in.

[b]did you catch the flag Mark?

I can't see your picture, is it just me?

Where are the sand dunes at?

.

The dunes are out west of Hwy191 south of the Moab airport. There are some fun areas to ride out there.

This is hands down my favorite RZR out there...next to Lynn's... 8)  Nice work Jared. I didn't realize that the air suspension was that recent of an addition to your machine. When I can finally afford to get an RZR, it will be running one.

#26 Re: Where to Ride? » American Fork Canyon » 2010-08-02 05:30:46

It's certainly a better trail during cooler weather, it gets hot out there as you are down in the bottom of the canyons with black rock. October or even November would be better. It's a fun trail in the snow too.

#27 Re: Goin' Riding... Who's with Me? » 2011 Arizona Strip ride to the Grand Canyon! » 2010-07-29 15:25:13

This sounds like an awesome ride. My family and I spent some time in the strip this past January, and we really want to go back. I probably won't be attending, as I have no UTV at the moment, but who knows by then...

Looks like a trail I want to do! I will check out dates tomorrow.

Jared, 5 Mile Pass is home to Rattlesnake and Constrictor, the trails I told about when I was at your shop. They're cool.

If Pittsburgh is the trail that takes off to the right in Mineral Basin - it is closed. But the rest Coreshot mentions are fun.

yup, that's the one, right at the start of Mineral Basin crossing through the creek to the right and up the hill.

I know AF Canyon fairly well. I have never been to Pittsburgh Lake but I am definately game. I would be good for Aug 20-21st - lets do it!

I didn't read the article, but if it's talking about driving to Pittsburg Lake it must be an old article- that trail has been closed for several years. I was fortunate enough to drive it a couple of times before it was closed. In fact, Gabe rolled his Jeep on the wall obstacle that was the make or break spot on the trail. Totalled his Jeep, but got him into rock crawling and his first trip to Moab was soon after.

There are several cool trails up the canyon though, Mineral Basin, Forest Lake, Mary Ellen Gulch and Major Evans Gulch to name a few.
