I found that my Terracross's that I love so much that are 26x 11 x 14 and 26 x 9 x14 are HEAVY!
Compared to a BIGHORN 2.0 25x10x12 at 22.7 lbs -vs- 31.8 lbs on the rear and 25x8x12 on the front is 18.4 lbs vs 23.7 lbs.
AN EXTRA 35+ pounds of rotating mass!
This is huge impact on performance when you also include the loss in wheel material of the 14" wheel to a 12" wheel considering you have to turn this weight. Long travel would greatly be impacted as well.

So are you going the the Bighorn 2.0 ? What is the difference from the standard Bighorn?
Offline
The difference between tire weight was just under 31 lbs, that was based on a used set of Terracross tires in a 14" wheel, 26" tall tire. 9 pounds each on the rear tires alone. No wonder I couldn't do much with my top speed. ![]()

I gave this some thought... Wouldn't it have been less expensive to just go on a diet? The performance of the Rhino would have benefited and Karen might have been able to literally see some benefit too.
LOFLMAO!!

Diet could help regardless...If 7 lbs is equal to 1 mile per hour up the sand mountain, My rhino could do about 30 up it...SWEET!
I will rig it up by remote to do it. ![]()

So how are the new tires? 8)
Excellent! Lost 30 lbs, 20 in the rear tires alone! I went 128 miles this weekend on gravel, dirt and pavement (north skyline to Scofield and back on highway, and the trails)
Rides smoother than with the 14" terracrosses and was able to gain another 6 mph out of them. When it came to the rutts I do like the terracross better. The Bighorns tend to slip in and tougher to get out of them but it was a well worth swap due to speed and weight. Should wear a lot better on the road too.
