Re: Looking for a new UTV

Hi,  we use our UTV on a farm, not for recreation, so we need lots of bed room to haul fence posts, tools, spray tanks, etc around.  I've been using an old Mule 2500 that has served us well for years, but has hit the end of its usefulness.  What I've loved about it is the large bed that will hold 2 larger sprayer tanks as well as my tool box.  We are considering a Ranger, but don't really know what would be best, so I thought I'd throw out a question here to see what people think.  What would you folks recommend for a work horse with a bigger bed, but would still go a little faster than that old Mule?  We also use it to check on flood gates in the river bottom, and it can take awhile to get around those levees in a slower UTV.  Looks like people love their Rangers; what others are out there that would fit our needs?  We will be buying used, not new, so we'll be considering UTV's made from 2000 up.

Yamaha Rhino will do the job.  It is a little faster.  Can pack 400 lbs in bed.  Can tow 1000 lbs
I have a 2007 Rhino 450 for sale right now at 7500 obo.

The Ranger HD or 6x6 would be the way to go, twice the box size of a rhino as well as twice the towing and hauling capacity. they have more power then a rhino and a higher top speed when the restrictor is removed   wink ....
