New Garage

I started planing for my new 44 X 40 garage two months back and the only thing holding me up is public works, they need to move my power pole to my house. Last week they finaly got the new pole in but didnt move the wires.
So Ill show what I have been up to in the mean time.

My (100 year) old garage was 18 X 10 with a wood floor.

It survived the 300 foot move to its soon to be new home on a concreat pad.
The steel I beams and posts should be here next week and I hope to start digging the hole for frost walls also.

Finaly got the power lines moved and got the hole dug today, concrete crew will be here monday.
Will have new photos mid week next week.

All formed up and poured. Steel will be here tomorrow. Backfill monday.

The steel is all up, work on getting it level on monday and putting the wood to it Tuesday.
Got it all back filled and there are no cracks in the pit, I was worried it wouldnt stand up to the compactors.

Very nice. Good to know you are compacting -too many people do not do a good job of that and are sorry later Is the steel for a Gantry Crane? Or just part of the frame (building)? ...already green with envy

The steel is just support for the roof so I wouldnt need to have a bunch of posts in the middle.
The horizontal I beams had to have webbing welded in so no gantry crane but I am putting a 15 ft hydraulic jib crane on the left side in the back by a 20ft x 3ft steel bench.

Side walls are up and plywood is on. Roof rafters should be done this week.

THE PIT :twisted:
2X8 walls 12 inches on center
2X12 roof rafters 12 inches on center
engineered pre-built roof trusses for the top 12 inches on center.
