Re: HCR long travel?

Who has first hand experience the hcr kit? I noticed it uses the stock ball joints, is that a good thing or bad, are they going to hold up very well? I do mostly rock crawling and trail riding, with the occasional whoops and jumps.

Re: HCR long travel?

I have HCR long travel on my machines and love it.  I do the same type of riding that you mentioned, and haven't had any trouble with the kit.  The boxed arms have taken a lot of abuse and are holding up fine.
No problems with the stock ball joints.

Re: HCR long travel?

The HCR kit is top notch. Very well built and will hold up to abuse. Stock ball joints hold up great but there are aftermarket options as well.

Re: HCR long travel?

Does it come with complete axles or just the axle shafts, and I have to use the cages off my stock axles?

Re: HCR long travel?

The kits come with just axles,  you have to re-use the stock CV's.  Pretty normal for most long travel kits.  I have tried the off brand "plug and play" axles and have had no luck.

What machine are you planning on putting this on?

Re: HCR long travel?

You'll definintley want to go with the stock cv's and put them on the axles that come with the kit.  Make sure you tell them if your Rhino is a 2-seater or 4-seater.
You wont believe the difference in stability and ride comfort.

Re: HCR long travel?

I added the HCR long travel to my 09.  I love it.  We do mostly rock crawling (Moab) and lots of mountain trails in the summer.  They are the bomb.  I love how the ride has smoothed out.  Now instead of going through an obstacle we go over the obstacle.  So far everything has held up to the punishment.
