I agree with what he says, could be debris in the carb - blow all the circuits out and check float levels. I have heard some people having problems with plastic shavings (from manufacturing) clogging the fuel pickup in the tank.

I have had a lot of problems jetting mine, but have since narrowed it down to 1. fuel pump not keeping up - replaced with a hi-flow 2. My choke sticks - I am working on a remmedy now (this would not be your problem as you are running lean) - likely lube cable and plunger in the carb.
