#91 Re: Goin' Riding... Who's with Me? » OFFICIAL PLANS! MESQUITE/SAND HOLLOW » 2010-02-03 08:05:36

We will be down Thursday evening. We will be staying north of St George, and driving down for the rides.
There will be 4 of us riding in Brutus. Just let us know when and where to meet.

I am 98% sure I will be there...  :?

WHAT???

What is this 98% nonsense?

Actually, I am at 110% - my wife is waffling a bit and dropping my percentage. I just need to know if I need a hotel room or I sleep alone in my truck  tongue

Don't worry about it! There is always room for you to spoon with Lance & Julian in my 5th wheel!

The Legend Air system is simply amazing!
One of my passengers said it was like riding on a roll of Charmin…
It is Smooth as silk if you want it that way or you can add some air and go flying through the whoops.

Launching & Landing the Brutus is smooth! We had 4 adults in there on one launch, and it was AWESOME!!!

It runs about 7.5 # of boost in St George, about a pound more than in SLC. (About 85 Wheel HP) It is plenty of power for getting the job done. I will leave the boost there and enjoy.

I'm looking forward to our trip on 2-27!

Our RV spot reserved right next door to the arena.

#97 Re: Ranger and RZR Performance Mods » Brutus is getting a Blower. (2010 Ranger 800 XP) » 2010-01-22 19:19:07

Finally the dyno results are in!

Mountain Performance tested the stock Ranger 800-XP. Then they installed the new Supercharger package. Then they tested it on the same dyno.

I realize that with CVT drive systems and variables between different dynos, it is harder to get the most consistent numbers, but the before and after numbers on the same dyno is what I am interested in.

Here are the initial results…
Stock:
46 rear wheel Horsepower and 42 foot pounds of Torque.

At 6.5 pounds of boost:
78 Rear wheel Horsepower and 65 foot pounds of Torque

6.5 pounds of boost is an extremely conservative boost number. I have been running 8-9 pounds of boost on my RZR for 3,500 miles with no trouble at all.
I will talk with Heath at MPI about the possibility of running another pound of boost, then doing another Dyno test. If that happens, I will post the results.

Holy cow! A 150 HP Webber powered monster with a warranty!?!?
AND They were saying that the 150 HP is at the WHEELS!

Too many toys... Not enough money... sad

What is the going rate for a kidney for these days??? big_smile

Thanks for the update.

The video was saying that some of their engines are made in Germany.
I wonder what the make of the 150 horsepower Turbocharged power plant is.
Could it be a Webber engine?
Whatever it is, it is WICKED!!!

You guys got me interested in looking at these things.
I didn’t know if this is the machine you are talking about, but DAMN that monster in the video looks Pissed off!

I have about a million questions that would need to be answered, but I think I want one!

Update...
(I like the video that plays after the first one, the guy talking explains several of my questions.
I like what I see so far...)

Dave, who's doing the dyno work on Brutus for you? what's it cost?

Mountain Performance has the Dyno. I don’t remember the exact cost; I remember that it was very reasonable though.

#103 Re: Ranger and RZR Performance Mods » "Brutus" is getting a Legend Air Suspension » 2010-01-10 17:46:17

I would say about 45-60 seconds.

The good thing is that it only has to be completely aired up just after it comes out of the transporter. It seems like adding or subtracting a few pounds is very quick once the air bags are in operating range.

SON OF A BI#@*!!!!
They just keep making me spend money!!
Don’t they know we are in a recession?

That thing looks like a blast!

lol  Now just imagine some bigger tires for more clearance and a blown motor  wink Brutus jr.  lol  It's only money...

HEY you are not helping!!!
(I’ve already been thinking about those exact things... lol )

Actually, I think the stock tires would do great! Just install a 1/2 " thick UHMW skid plate so you can slide across obstacles.

I’m sure it could use a bit more power if you are adding the extra weight. The added weight of the 2 extra people wouldn’t even be noticed if one of these things had a blower. In fact I’m sure that it would easily outrun a stock RZR even loaded with 4 people. I'll bet the existing MPI Supercharger from the RZR-S would bolt right on!
DAMN that could be allot of fun…

OK, I need to get away from this computer!
