Recreational Off-Highway Vehicle Association Continues to Urge Enthusiasts and Dealers to Comment on CPSC’s ROV Rulemaking
The Recreational Off-Highway Vehicle Association (ROHVA) continues its call-to-action to enthusiasts and dealers to submit comments by March 15, 2010 in response to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) proposed mandatory standards for recreational off-highway vehicles (ROVs), also known as side-by-sides and UTVs.
Now is the time to make your voice heard on proposed government-mandated standards that would fundamentally alter ROVs as we know them.
The ROHVA portal - www.rohva.org/anpr - has been updated with new tools for enthusiasts and dealers to submit comments. The sample letters urge CPSC to work with ROHVA to implement voluntary standards and to promote the ROV Safety Rules. The page also contains explanations of ROHVA’s position on ROV standards and links to important documents.
“ROV stakeholders need to be heard on whether the appropriate next step to establish ROV standards is moving forward with federal government-imposed mandatory standards or instead gaining experience under the ANSI standards and promoting the ROV Safety Rules available at www.rohva.org,” said Paul Vitrano, ROHVA executive vice president.
ROHVA previously expressed disappointment with CPSC’s October 2009 vote to issue an Advanced Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (ANPR) for mandatory ROV standards. ROHVA believes this action is premature because an American National Standards Institute (ANSI) process to develop standards for ROVs had long been underway. Since that time, the process has been completed and the proposed ANSI standard is under final review. Components of the standard include protective gear requirements, a certified roll-over protective structure, a minimum of three point seatbelts for each seating position, and multiple lateral stability criteria.

Have you ever seen a ring tail monkey ride an invisible motor cycle?

Terry,
We've removed the posts from our site. Thanks for letting us know.
I got the Garmin Colorado 300 last year and have been happy with it for the most part. It was my first GPS unit so I really can't compare it to anything else.

Pro's for my Garmin:
- Nice full color display with good detail
- The dial makes choosing options and zooming in/out quick
- The mouse-like pointer allows you to scan across your maps easily.
- One hand operation
- Offers some good customization features that I haven't messed with too much yet
Cons:
- Battery life is not great
- Hard to read the display outdoors unless you crank up the backlit display to full. The main reason for the poor battery life i think.
Spend a little time shopping around to get the best price on whatever unit you decide to go with. I found mine at Costco for half the price then others were selling it at.
Well done Badley. Great video. Thanks for sharing.
Welcome to the forum Pepe, glad to have you here. Nice Ranger.
who makes that exhaust? I've never heard of it before.
Some info just released today on possible 2011 Yamaha Rhino updates:
Yamaha is introducing 2011 Rhino 700 FI vehicles this summer, including a new Sport Edition.
The 2011 Rhino will have a new steering wheel and adjustable seat belt, providing more rider comfort in off-road conditions. Also new to the Rhino line is a White Armor Sport Edition that features fully adjustable piggyback shocks, one-piece cast aluminum wheels, injection-molded sun top, over fenders, Baja-inspired front carry bar, and a special graphics treatment. The Sport model also comes with dealer-installed LED tail lights, custom shift knob and black bed rails.
The 700-class powerplant is optimized for the Rhino with a liquid-cooled, four-valve SOHC engine providing plenty of torque to tackle rough terrain.
Glad to have you on board RZR CUT. Sweet toys and welcome to forum!
Welcome to the forum, What would you like to know about the features :?:
Dale I think he wants to know if you want to buy some Scar Cream
 Will it help with the dimples on my arse?
Hahaha... You guys shouldn't reply to these spammers with funny comments because then I feel bad deleting the thread. If I remove just their post then everyone else will be like WTF are these crazy folks talkin' about. That said, our friend, the scar cream peddler (and his post) have been removed. Sorry. ![]()
I removed all the info from his post but want the thread to stay active so others see the warning. I'll leave his account active too so he can post an explanation for why he's stealing peoples money when he's ready to come clean.
