Here are some photos of the new cage extension/top, seating and harnesses I added to my Rhino. Now my son and his wife and boys can tag along  big_smile Ordered everything from Ruthless Motorports (thanks again Jared  big_smile ) Twisted Stitch really came through for me. They got the order to me just in time. The seat covers, bench and booster seat look great are very nice quality. Simpson Harnesses - 2x3 front and 2x2 back.

Seat covers were a little tough to get on, but they really fit nice and even from the back and underneath look like new seats.

FYI Here is my trailer. Thought you might like to see it. Bought a 7x7x24' all aluminum - 2500/lbs-my 1/2 ton tows it well. It was unfinished interior, I ended up finishing with tile board, added vents, fuel doors and epoxy floor paint.

It is easy to miss interpret writing stiles sometimes.

OHH SO TRUE. Some things you have to take with a grain of salt. Thats what makes us human.  big_smile

Agreed! "What I Love about my Polaris Ranger 700 XP" would have been better, but a much longer thread  lol  big_smile

#740 Re: General Polaris Ranger and Polaris RZR Discussions » 2nd hand RZR » 2009-07-16 14:45:33

Sounds like a great deal. Compresion test and checking the oil for particles would likely tell you if it has sucked dirt. With the air box and voltage regulator fixed I would say ride it!  8)

Dang X - your work is always impressive!  8)  Looks tough, does the back land on the frame?

I would start with shifter linkage adjustment. After that I am not sure...

He is supposed to be the professional mechanic, and I'm just the consumer.

I think you should be considered a "Polaris Certified" mechanic after your RZR is completely fixed  lol

#744 Re: The X Spot » Need help picking a family UTV » 2009-07-07 17:33:44

I agree! (no argument here  tongue ) Adding seating to the bed in a SXS is risky. I would take all precautions to make it as safe as possible. Get the paassengers out when going over any extreme obstacles.

I am adding a cage and bench seat to a Rhino, but at a 400lb payload rating the cage, seat, harnesses and 2 little boys (Grandchildren) I will be right at payload capacity. As the boys get older it will exceed 400lbs. If yu decide this route, I would suggest a good cage (there are some cheesy/cheap ones out there) and good 5 point restraints. I am also adding harness hand holds and wrist restraints so little arms can't reach outside the cage. I would vote for Ranger XP/HD as well. You can seat 3 across in the front, but I am not sure I would add more than 2 in the bed unless they are smaller children.

The Ranger crew is capable but the long wheel base will limit you. Rumor was that Yamaha was going to release a 4 seater - I would not hold my breath.

#745 Re: The X Spot » thank you all. » 2009-07-03 23:51:59

I am so happy you got your RZR working grtrnd1 big_smile  All the thanks should go to Rangerdalexp! Having him contribute to this forum is exciting - he knows Polaris! That thread was/is a treat to read. Even though you needed help, you sure did a great job of communicating and carrying out Dale's suggestions and instructions for diagnosing and fixing the problem. My hat off to both of you for a great thread!

I had a problem with my Rhino last week - oil leak. And searching some threads for similar problem led me to the easy fix (no money either) and saved me a lot of time. I am sure your thread will help many people with similar problems. They may not be compelled to post their gratitude, so I will - Thank You Guys!

Just broke out the "periodic checks and adjustments" (chapter 3 - 52 pages) into 1.4MB file. Chapter 4 might be needed also (97 pages -  4.72MB) Let me know where to send it SSgt Petchell!

#749 Re: General Discussion about Yamaha Rhinos » timing a 2007 660 rhino » 2009-06-29 08:09:22

Welcome to the forum SSgt Petchell - and thank you for your service :!:
I happen to have the Rhino 660 service manual in PDF format - it is about 12MB - I would be happy to send, but problem is most email servers limit size of attachements to about 5mb. I can break down manual into smaller files or if you prefer just send appropriate pages. PM me an email address and I can get it sent this evening.

Rhino in a war zone  big_smile  8) Be safe and God Bless!
