I've been through the Rubicon several times with my Rhino but haven't taken the RZR through yet. I think it's actually easier with a SxS than a full size rig. You can run it from the Lake Tahoe side on the East, or from the Georgetown/Loon Lake side on the West. You can get through the entire trail without a winch, and the only really hard places are Little Sluice, and Old Sluice. There is a lot of use on the trail so most of the obstacles have rocks piled around them to make it easier to get through and you shouldn't need a winch. You can usually make the entire trip by June, just depends on snowfall though. The best time is Fall after a little rain but before the snow, when the days are still relatively long. If you only have one day you can get to Rubicon Springs and back to Loon without too much trouble. If there are others in NorCal that want to run it we should plan something for sometime next Summer
I couldn't have said it any better. I don't know about the rest of you guys but I'm already anxious to get back in May ![]()
Sorry to hear that Brad, cause "Cold feet" at the Polaris dealer?
lol, the Captain is all for it, the Chief isn't
Your not supposed to work on turkey day. whats up with that?
Funny Gavin, no one ever thought of calling 9-1-1 on a holiday
Is anyone goin riding for turkey day?
Yep, I'll be riding the Fire Engine :x
I'll own a CanAM by then, already #4 on my dealers waiting list.
I thought about waiting to see what Can-Am would come up with but was afraid of their Visco-Lok setup. I have an Outlander 800 now and it takes some getting used to the locker. If they could find a way to have a true diff lock though

This is as about as late as we can get through, and only because our weather has been pretty mild. Fordyce has 4 creek crossing and getting through there is dependent on flows out of the lake. PG&E controls the flows and uses it as part of their hydroelectric system. Fall is usually the best time to get through as the lake is getting low and snow hasn't hit. Once we get any snow in the Sierras both trails are impassable until Spring
Both are within 90 minutes of Sacramento or Reno. The Rubicon can be run from either the Tahoe or Georgetown side, Fordyce starts just off of I-80 near Donner Summit
I think we've run all the hardest trails out there now...I guess we need to hit BFE next, huh!
Come West and I'll take you through the Rubicon for a warm up, then introduce you to the Fordyce, most of the trail is like Rocker Knocker

Axxis billet aluminium rear view mirror.
How does the mirror mount and what's 1/2 price on a billet mirror?
That's the theory, but the stock AFR's of the RZR are too rich to begin with, so after adding the pipe, we still pulled fuel out of the curves to maximize power.
I found the same with a Suzuki EFI with a new pipe. Initial setup on the Dyno was fine, added the pipe and the ratio was too rich. Talked to a guy at BUB that was running the Dyno and he said it's pretty common
