Send some of that snow down here! The weather pattern changed and we are finally getting some moisture, but we are way behind this year...
Lets meet at Lanse's bed n breakfast
I am not sure if I will be staying with Mother-in-Law
or at hotel. I will keep you informed Ron, we can meet somewhere in town and you can follow me to trailhead. Have you booked a hotel? I stayed at Americas Best Value last time, cheap, parking good, but hotel only OK.
Thanks for the great info. I will look into it for sure. I know you don't miss these snow birds.
The snow birds are fine... as long as you are not trying to get somewhere, get seated in a resturant, buy groceries, etc. :? ![]()
Looked at HCR's site, maybe they aren't making the Ranger LT anymore? Jared at Ruthless can find out. They have the complete kits for most at about $4k, used to cost $5.5k I believe.
Is this the next Ruthless shop machine? ![]()
Welcome Mathew. I am going with HCR racing LT on my S, I think they make a ranger kit- stout A-arms and King shocks. Ruthless can set you up with a kit from them. I spent 6 years in Yuma... kind of miss it this time of year ![]()
Maybe Feb. for me
I agree - try Fins-n-Things. And then you might be up for Hells Revenge. There are great guides and people willing to help get you through safely. What machine are you driving? I have seen stock machines take on some of the hardest trails and do very good.
I am interested Ron. Jana and I are thinking mid-Feb for a ride. I think Lanse will be there The weekend of the 17th also. Keep us posted on your schedule.
If we ever found out where the spam was comming from I do not think we would be "treading lightly" on them
The Rally is an awesome experience - I would highly recomend it! The heat isn't too bad in May - weather can change so be prepared for cold too. Your Ranger will be able to handle easy to moderate trails but I would recomend calling for a spotter rope on steep obstacles as the Rangers are back heavy and tend to tip backwards fairly easy. Lift will give you clearance, but will also affect center of gravity. Offset wheels will help offset a lift. I would highly recomend a UHMW skid plate and offset rims and maybe forget the lift. Tires - Maxis Bighorns do great in Moab, I run 28" ITP Bajacross, they do great also - I personally like the rim protection and 8 ply rating, but they get very good traction on the slick rock and you need to be careful not to use too much power and end up breaking and axle (or worse). Unless you stay next to the arena you will have to trailer to the arena (you could also leave your trailer and Ranger at the arena. If you are street legal in UT you can drive on most roads. Guided trails are escorted and you will not have to trailer back and forth to trails. If you have never been to Moab, this is the perfect way to experience it. Hotels fill up fast... better get a reservation soon.

Looking good! We haven't had any snow to move this year  Looking like we are headed back into a drought cycle.
Great time riding with you. BTW Jana says she can't see over the hood so she looks to the side, she swears she has her eyes open ![]()
You will have the first one... right Dave?
