#32 Re: General Discussion about Yamaha Rhinos » Need help on removing the bed from my '07 Rhino » 2007-07-16 13:27:00

I have an '07 and need to take the bed off of the frame.  I am not sure how to undo the wiring harness on the bed.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Has anyone tried the No Toil Air Cleaner?  The video looks impressive.

I had already ordered Aerospeeds when Max posted about avoiding them.  He suggested Lumberjack carcasses and 7 paddles.  It had rained the weekend I tried the Aerospeeds and they were terrible.  I was bogging down on small dunes.  I had climbed some 3 times larger before with the stockers.  Anyone need andy Aerospeeds?

Will the Rhino climb Sand Mtn?  I am having trouble climbing 75 footers.  It  climbed them last time with the stock tires but this time with the Aerospeeds it only dug in and didn't make it very far.  The sand was damp.  Very disappointed.  Do you think it oculd be the Aeropspeeds?  Maybe I need to go to a less agressive paddle?

Thanks.  I guess I didn't look hard enough and just over looked them.

I have seen pics. and videos of Rhinos with shoulder harnesses and most of them seem to have some type of cross bar behind the seats for anchor points.  I can find the harnesses for sale but can not seem to be able to locate one of the bars.  Anyone know where I can find one or is everyone having them made?  Thanks

Max Powers - What are your reasons for not using them?  I can't find them on their web site.

I like what I have heard and seen about the AMS Aerospeeds.  They advertise that is is better suited for off camber in the sand on the Rhinos.

Drop by one of the Yamaha dealers and ask for the brochure that has the video included with it.

#41 Re: General Discussion about Yamaha Rhinos » Tired of Paying Yamaha Prices for Oil Filters? » 2007-04-09 19:49:55

I have an '01 Raptor and an '07 Rhino.  I have been running 3rd party oil filters on the Raptor since the first oil change.  I have only changed the oil in the Rhino one time and used a 3rd party filter on it also.  When I bought the Rhino, the parts guy told me that it used the same filter as the Raptor.  When I first bought the Raptor, the local dealer charged me $17 for a Yamaha filter and I decided then to do some cross referencing and find a replacement.  By matching the thread pitch/count and diameter, I found a match, but the filter was aobut an inch longer which was fine with me because it held a little more oil.  It has been so long ago I am not sure what it crossed with but I think it was a 1996 Mazda V-6 mini van.  I started using A/C Delco filters until they became hard to find in my area and switched to Bosch and STP.  It has been so long since I used the A/C that I can't remember the part number but this is a list of the others.  A word of caution!  If you use a filter other than Yamaha, be sure to check and make sure the area where the threads are located is concave and not flat.  Some brands are flat and will not tighten up over the large gland nut on the engine and it will throw oil out when you start it.

I am presently due an oil change on the Rhino but am running a Parts Master filter #61064.  I will be changing to a Bosch or STP on the next change.  I bought the Parts Master when in Az. and to my knowledge there isn't any of these stores around me.

Bosch # is 3323

STP # is S(as in STP) 6607 =S6607

If interested, take a look at these and decide for yourself.  Take your old one with you and compare the concave area just to be sure it will mate up.

P.S. As a disclaimer, you do this at your own risk.  I accept no responsibility.

What size main jet did you end up running after you had it on the dino?  Did you change the pilot jet also?  I am at 700' elevation.  Other than an Dyna Tek ignition, it is stock.  Thanks
