Looks great! The Fords have improved there ride over the years, night and day from a 96,2001, to a 2005. I would recommend keeping it towards the ground. My next truck will be leveled with less than 35's on it. They look good but for what we tow with these Ford should offer at least 4:10 gearing stock on the Powerstroke. Tires aren't getting cheaper either.

#242 Re: The X Spot » New to the sport, I need help! » 2010-05-06 22:31:28

If your new to the sport there are many things to consider:

Rhino 450: will do just about anything but sand and not recommended as a four seater
Ranger: great machine all around but has size limitations but huge hauling capability
Rhino 660: my own experience has been great but you will be around 7500 or more for a clean, used machine. Low oil can toast an engiwant to ne in these quick too.
RZR: plenty of power, would recommend if you need the 50" trail width, most lookat long travel or the "s" model for more stabilty, lucky to find under 8000.

I now have the new RZR4 4 seater after selling the Rhino. I wanted to keep the rhino for crawling but found the RZR capable and more comfortable.

I will be ready after Saturday, if my ultra steer comes in tomorrow. Any of you heading to the dunes on the way home from the
Rally??

I am excited to see how the ultra steer works out! I will call you tomorrow after the big brown truck shows up.  wink

What was the plan on the dunes again? Is Big Mike and those guys still coming?

It would be fun to try and make it out there but may not be till the following weekend.

I am ready. RZR4 is going out for it's break-in service then I should be able to focus on the other stuff, AND WORK!

As far as your truck I have a great mechanic at LHM Ford off 1300 south and I-15. Sounds simular to what my 05 did a few months ago. CHAD HOLT

What was the deal with yours? Mine is an 05 too.

It would heat up to around 225 and I could smell antifreeze, only while towing. Mine was a oil cooler and a seal I believe. Henry S. Day could not diagnose it without a code but Larry Miller Ford knew right what it was. They have some of the best powerstroke mechanics anymore down there I have decided. Treated well too.

I can't hear the engine at all now, half the volume is plenty. I have the gains almost all the way down with plenty of power for a future sub or rear speakers. The rhino it didn't matter how loud, the engine won.

#248 Re: General Discussion about Yamaha Rhinos » Shifting issues? » 2010-04-29 07:05:13

I sold the rhino a few weeks ago and never took pics of the repair.

If you take the shifter out and remove the keeper nuts that are pressed on (you may have to replace) it is where that pin goes through the plastic shifter component. Fill the void around the square part within the plastic with a epoxy or "no Sag" product. Reassemble before it dries. It needs to dry hard so silicone and other soft adhesives will not work.

These pics I wanted to share of my install of the Pioneer amplifier, SSV pods and a pair of Infinity Marine 6x9 speakers.

The pods are available from Ruthless motorsports! big_smile

#250 Re: Events, Rallies, & Races » Rally on the Rocks- May 12-15 2010 Moab, Utah » 2010-04-26 22:10:45

Very Nice! He is bringing my skid plates for the RZR and a set for a buddy coming from texas. I'm hoping I can sweet talk him into installing my street legal kit also smile

He is tired of Moab so he will hang out at his trailer and do installs all day lol . He is extremely good now at those UHMW skids and signal kits and can do a complete long travel while you wait, I dubs first on the skid plate install! wink

I must have pissed off too many Subaru owners big_smile . Whenever I would see one regardless of windows up or down I would casually bump up the chip setting, tap the gas pedal a couple times  roll  roll before giving it hell, the black out scenerio! I only do it to the Granola's in the Subies.  lol  lol
