Is there a stronger one? Makes me wonder if that will be a part in my near future.

I need another good ride like last weekend. Did you get your machine checked out Bob?

This is a very serious concern. If I don't get riding time in my work and home life suffers. Income drops and kids turn to drugs along with us parents for having no social life or danger in our lives.  lol

#113 Re: General Discussion about Yamaha Rhinos » Yamaha Rhino motor swap out ? » 2010-12-01 09:11:35

If you are going with a build without turbo's talk to Chris @ benchmark performance. He helped with the components of a great 686 build when my 660 died. I had a local company do all the milling and installation of the motor itself. He knows alot when it comes to motors and worked for Honda a few years back. 760-484-0986 or Chris@benchmarkperformance.com

Note to self... you will spend 3k+ on a good build and you could invest that into a new machine. Lesson learned!

#114 Re: General Discussion about Yamaha Rhinos » Yamaha Rhino 450 Belt » 2010-12-01 00:07:21

A cdi on a 450 does help in lowering the rpm range but it doesn't help on the belts under those conditions. A 450cc engine moving a 1200+ pound machine in certain conditions will have it's days limited.

#115 Re: General Discussion about Yamaha Rhinos » Yamaha Rhino 450 Belt » 2010-11-29 21:47:36

A 450 will easily smoke a belt if it is used in high range and constantly getting stuck. Is it ventilated?

450's are really a utility machine instead of a sport like the 660 or 700. They are great for plowing and pulling but suffer when it comes to duning or running at their top speed of 33 mph.

#116 Re: General Kawasaki Teryx and Mule Discussion » Death of My Daughter » 2010-11-22 18:54:23

Fully understood on the concerns of others. The issue is his daughter was killed by a drunk driver who was allowed by the owner to drive impaired. He went after the manufacture of a vehicle that just like any other can kill. My deepest sympathy remains with him and his family but he originally blamed the manufacture for the death. I would not wish for this to happen to anyone and it is good to speak up about impaired drivers but do not blame the manufacture. Just my opinion and don't mean to offend.

#117 Re: General Kawasaki Teryx and Mule Discussion » Death of My Daughter » 2010-11-22 16:55:50

Every year I see this and wonder why the manufacture should be liable when there is enough safety decals on these things to prevent "accidents". When the wheel falls off or the engine seizes from factory issues is a manufacture issue. It is our responsibility as parents to make sure we as well as other drivers have the IQ to operate safely. We all feel for your loss still but when do we be ome responsible citizens and quit allowing the government to wash their hands in other business?

Also, why did you have to screw up four other threads in the process of posting this again?

These storys are always upsetting considering they are there to serve and protect what happens on our public lands. Maybe next trip there will be a new grave up there for the shooter.
