#76 Re: General Polaris Ranger and Polaris RZR Discussions » looking for feedback on ranger 500 vs 800 » 2010-03-16 21:54:34

I would say get the 800 even with only 4hp diff I would think you will get more torque and low end power out of the 800.
If your going to work it I bet the 800 will treat you better.
But thats just my opinion a Porlaris owner may say something diff.

Have you ever seen a ring tail monkey ride an invisible motor cycle?

 HOLY DUCK SHIT :!:   Are you still talking about a side-x-side or a $150,000 Lexus suv? just seems a bit elaborate for a UTV. :?  :?:

big_smile ) BTW - great photo... squirrel fight  lol  Not that Kyle or Chris are squirrels  tongue

I was looking for a picture of a monkey shit fight at the zoo but couldnt come up with any good ones.  lol

I have the feeling that asking what event to go to or what one is better is the same as asking what UTV is better.
All you guys out west are lucky because here in the north east we hardly even have trails, say nothing about a rally.

I have a Curtis cab system on my Rhino. It works well and can be removed in seconds with out any tools. Its worth every penny.

I wonder if the us postal service flat rate boxes would work. Only $4.95 ships anywhere in the US lol
I would love to get out there someday but it isnt going to happen for a while.

I am however going to build my own dirt track in my field this summer. A 4 acre field all to my self.:P

Any guesses on whats in the boxes????

IT'S ME! I WAS SICK OF THE WEATHER IN MAINE, SO I PUT MY SELF IN THE MAIL. NOW PLEASE OPEN THE BOX SO I CAN GET SOME AIR.
My Rhino was harder to mail so its coming piece by piece lol

Im still running my stock tires, not even 1/2 gone yet (all my riding is in my field and woods) but I like the look of the Interco swamp lite.

Big tires add more torque to your drivetrain, everything thing like axles, trans, and clutches have to work harder.
Big tires will stress the entire machine and when it comes right down to it something has to give.

Are you looking to get more ground clearance or more traction?

#90 Re: General Polaris Ranger and Polaris RZR Discussions » Transporting New Ranger 400 with windshield??? » 2010-02-11 11:51:38

I have transported my Rhino at 65mph with a polycarbonate (lexan) windshield on and it has not bothered yet.
Just try it out and go slow at first and see how it acts at speed, You should be safe at 45mph because most UTVs go atleast 40mph and I would be shocked if a company built a windshield that couldnt handle the top speed of the machine it was built for.

Yes there are companys out there that build windshields that come off quick. I can strip my full cab (roof, windshield, rear window and doors) off my Rhino in under 1 minute. http://curtisindustries.net/PolarisRanger/
