Is there anybody out there that has a copy of this service bulletin for this problem, Please post, thanks....
Oh bye the way Polaris has completely redesigned the filter system for the 2009 model due to the problem you are having. from what i have read from your first post you may be the 1st owner and that means maybe they are behind in the notice, I hope the info above will help you resolve the problem, any other questions i will be happy to try to help and please let use here know the out come. there are a lot of people with your problem :?: :?:
This is a list of changes for the 2009 air boxes posted on the PRC site.
The following is a list of changes of the Model Year 2009 RZR air intake system.
>Better sealed air box lid. This was accomplished by adding a 3rd clip.
>Better Throttle Body boot and connection.
>Hose clamp was replaced with a new injection molded air filter sealing ring.
>New “closed cell” foam was placed around intake dog house.
>The filter was changed to have 100% more pleated surface area and 2 ½ times the pleat depth. A new severe duty environment type media is now used.
On my latest research it seems that Polaris has a fix for the problem but is it enough, There fix does not include all the 2009 upgrades and only includes an o ring and updated filter, If i were you i would upgrade yours to the 2009 parts spec's and see if you can run a snorkel like the ranger xp has to get it into cleaner air. The ranger xp has two filters, One at the snorkel under the hood and the main one behind the intake.
To be honest with you i thought your Polaris dealer would know nothing about your problem, it maybe probable denial and they really are not that up on Polaris technical stuff anyway, at least in my area, I go into there shops and know more about there products then they do, i have ran into this with them a lot, Are you the first or second owner of your RZR, from what i gather Polaris was to send out a warranty recall in regards to your problem but it would have been sent to the person that purchased it originally, at this time you need to got to www.prcforum.com site and go to Ranger RZR discussions and it will show all the problems with the GEN 1 RZR air boxes, all the info is there and Polaris is aware of the problem from what i have read, the dealers are very unhelpful in my area on the simplest questions which tell me the same about yours. when you posted your problem this is were i remember seeing the answer and looked into it. good luck and let me know what happens. they have a wealth of info there on Polaris problems, I tried to get a copy of the service recall but was not able to obtain one.
You are welcome and also if you have not done it yet put it in cycletrader as well, a lot of people looking for used equipment go there first and also try craigs list, i know of people that use that service as well, a friend gets all his rhino parts from them. :!: ![]()
I am almost sure that the winch from polaris is made by warn industrys.
you are welcome for the info and i will keep a look out for any more like you said, At this time i do not remember were i saw them. :?:
It is a shame that you are selling it, If you need to sell it fast you should post it also on PRC.COM, They will respect it over there as well. it is all Polaris people over there and there may be a person or two that would like a new replacement or an up grade, it really seems priced well for what you have in it, it is just a thought to get it sold for you.
.
I would really love to see more on TV. a couple years ago at are first corr race in the A.V. at the Lancaster/Palmdale fair grounds they did UTV racing and was on national TV but the problem was NBC and Speed vision removed the UTV racing from there broadcast and just showed the corr trucks.

I love the ranger xp it has and does everything i demand from it but if i were going to buy a sports machine to go with my xp i would go the extra step and cash and buy the RZR-s and never look back. I know how a narrow wheel base feels like and rides like compared to my xp and really like the 60 width and the 12" travel of the RZR-s. It should not feel as tippy as the stock rhinos and RZR.
.
That is a one hell of an inventory, It really looks good.
good going and i also sent you something on cup holders as well.

It has a hotter cam and better piston and exhaust then the stock 800 engine . the stock RZR has around 48 Hp and the RZR -S has 55 hp, and beware for the 70 hp new sportsman 850 engine that will most likely show up in RZR's in the future, or at least the race versions, here is a link to more info. http://www.utvguide.net/polaris_rzr_s.htm

I have not found anything that bolts in were you would like to do yours but there is an oversize cup holder that will replace your stock ones and will look completely stock when done and they a available at wal mart in the boating fishing area, They will fit over sized drinks and you will need to dremel the stock holes out to make them fit, I will keep my eyes open for anything else.
That is a good looking machine, What do you have in it know if you don't mind me asking.
I am sure that it really wakes the RZR up but It is not cheap as well as the other kits.
