#46 Re: Ranger and RZR Performance Mods » Brutus is getting a Blower. (2010 Ranger 800 XP) » 2010-12-18 13:19:32

It has worked pretty well, but I have had all kinds of problems with heat.
Many of the problems are likely because everything is so closed in with the rear seat conversion.

Here are some pics that show all the things I needed to do to protect things from heat.

If I were doing it again, I would probably talk with Aerocharger about the kit they built for the Ranger XP. It looks really well thought out. Marshall Motoart has one on the rig they built for Destination Polaris.

Don't waste your money on those.
If you want to do it right, get the Legend Air suspension system.
It comes with an on board compressor & the ability to adjust on the fly for whatever load you have in your rig.

I had the same problem with Brutus a year ago. Even on the stiffest setting, the factory suspension would bottom out.
Now I have all the adjustability in the world.

Get with Jared at Ruthless Motorsports. They are on this site, and I believe they still have that special pricing on the Legend air.

I don’t think it is as much a “Numbers” issue, as it is a principle issue. The message needs to be that WE are the government! Those who are crafting the next wave of closures think we are not paying attention, but they are wrong; the problem is that there aren’t enough people doing their part to prove it.

We all express outrage when our liberties are one by one taken away, but who is willing to actually take a stand with those who are trying to protect them? I say those who are not willing to go and take a stand have no right to complain when the next land closure happens. Weather this rally actually makes the difference or not, YOU will know that you did something to try and stop it.

I really do understand your skepticism, but it’s kind of like saying “My vote doesn’t count for much, so I’ll just stay home”. I say it is all about the one, not the masses. It is all about you. If YOU want change, than YOU need to be there!
If for no other reason than to know that you didn’t leave it to others to make the difference.

That would make a great VIDEO!
All of us cutting across lawns & running from the cops in our RZRs.
lol

I will be getting together with Brad M. and following along.

Try taking off the 2 small plastic side panels behind the radiator. They are each held in place with about 5 little push pins. This will allow the hot air from the radiator to escape much easier, so it won't keep trying to find a way into the cab.
I don't really know why they even have them on, since the RZRs have never even had them. OK, maybe they add a more finished look, but I prefer functionality.

#58 Re: The X Spot » CAN-AM COMMANDER » 2010-06-09 19:03:44

I'm glad to hear it's not loud!
With the engine up between the driver & passenger it made me wonder.

SO are ya all going to go and test drive it out at High adventure Powersports a week from Saturday???
I signed up online. www.theridesaysitall.com then go to events, then utah... Fill out the form, and you are registered.

I went ahead and ordered a 1,000 cc XT in Red. I just couldn't help myself... roll
They are gonna be hard to get for a while. The standard 1 year warranty cured my worries about 1st year glitches.

kyle,

Are they quieter than the RZR?
Is it at least AS easy to carry on a conversation while driving in the Commander as it is in the RZR?

In Moab, How is the stability on steep climbs & side hills compared to the RZR S?

Are you sure it is the differential?
I have noticed that the transmission belt engages at about 2,000 RPM. It’s kind of like having a high stall on an automatic transmission car. I don't like it, but it is normal.

On the other hand, I did have to replace a $400. Clutch because of "Heat" issues. It did make a bad Clunk when starting out. Apparently it had left noticeable wear marks on the clutch shaft. Make sure you get that checked before your warranty expires. I had to pay for it out of pocket.
They now have an “Updated design” with larger bearings.
