Anyone have or heard of this? It sounds like a rubbing sound when I accelerate over 10 mph. It does it in L and H, AWD or not, even in neutral. My buddy says it sounds like the speedometer cable. I didn't buy the extended warranty but it still should be covered right? It's only 3 months old.
Mine sometimes makes a funny clicking or rubbing sound sometimes. Comes and goes, not loud enough yet for me to be concerned
. Let us know what happens with it if you take it to the dealer.
I have the 08 polaris razor and I find that the exhaust manifold gets too hot. If riding in wooded or grassy areas the debris collects on the exhaust manifold and pipe and smolders and starts on fire. I am very concerned about this situation and polaris won't acknowledge there is a problem. To test this I let the unit IDLE for 5 minutes and used an infrared thermometer to measure the temperature and I got 450 Degree's Celsius or 840 degree's Fahrenheit! And that is idle for 5 minutes not riding hard! I enjoy the area I ride in and don't want to be the cause of a major fire. Has anyone else noticed the extreme heat issue with their units? :!:
Sounds like you may have a fuel/air problem. I know mine runs a little warm but no where near that hot. Did you try talking to the dealer or did you mean you talked to the dealer by saying you talked to "Polaris"? I do believe that at idle that fuel mapping is lean but it should improve at speed. What are the temps like where you ride?
Just curious to what the rest of you guys are setting the stock suspension at. I got my RZR with the suspension at the lowest setting but i cranked it up one tooth and its a little better I guess for thick woods/trail riding. Just want to know if anyone has really tried a variety of adjustments in a bunch of different conditions.
hi chris,
welcome as I am new here myself, where you from?
Hi My name is Jeff. I did myself a favor and got a Razor in Jan 08 and love it. Is there any north east riders here? Kinda wish I lived out west, much more places to ride. I think the people are nicer too. (Don't think I posted on this board yet about myself). Pretty cool theres a site for SXS's!
There are many aftermarket lids made for them.
Just strange that they don't come with one stock since the compartment is already there. It definately looks like Polaris originally designed one to come stock but removed it for some reason. Wish they kept it its a handy little storage box!
Hey do you still have the drive belt? If so how much would you like for it?
I went with the hard plastic top, half windshield, and front deluxe brush guard. Just had the plain stock black rims on it as i didn't feel like shelling out the extra cash if i bend one. I also bought an after market rear view mirror from cabelas.com which works great. I purchased the 5 year warranty for it just because it was a new production machine and I wanted any defects to be covered as I heard there were a couple recalls on them. Worth the extra cash to me. I also took the old spider web style cargo net i used for my motorcycle and put it across the rear bed area and it works pretty well. Oh, almost forgot, just make sure you don't have them install the accessories unless they'll do it for free, its real easy to do. If its looks you want go with the aluminum rims but wasn't what i needed.
I Actually called the dealer thinking they ripped me off a part but they said it doesn't come with one. And sice your asking the same thing I guess they're right. I agree very strange, com-on Polaris!
