Fasttrax,
Try not to hold that against me smile  I don't get to the pleasure of living there anymore.
I'm stuck in Denver selling tech gadgets to the government.

We should organize a Side X Side ride on the Paiute and cook some steaks.

If anyone is interested in the Paiute I co-wrote a book with my other brother
and he sells it on ATVUtah

Thought I had better introduce myself.
Shannon is my proper name and I'm from Marysvale Utah (originally), now Colorado.
On occasion you will see my name tagged to an article in UTV Offroad magazine.
If your bored checkout my Youtube channel. www.youtube.com/xxxoffroad.com
I think I met a few of you in Moab at the UTVrally.  Here are a few shots of my RZR.
It was in my brothers booth at the rally.

I think the "cost nazis" took it off at the last minute to save Polaris $.13 on the manufacturing.
UTVcrap.com has a nice unit, either natural Aluminum or PC black.

$17 if I recall.

For you guys in Salt Lake County there is an option.
You can petition the county to designate OHV access routes.
I would suggest you map them out in great detail and get on the County agenda.
Show up with as many signatures as you can get.
Best way to do this is hang out in your favorite dealerships with a clipboard.

I don't much care for it.  Overpriced at the very least.

I went with the Mammoth setup.  Works awesome.  Use it with my ipod and my Sirius satelite.
www.xxxoffroad.com has them.

#338 Re: The X Spot » Street legal ATV tire options » 2008-06-08 21:23:07

Your UHP contact is wrong.

You will not be required to have DOT approved tires to get you UTV street legal.
I have that info directly from Mike Noel who drafted and sponsored the bill.
You are limited to 45MPH so DOT tires are not required.

We should have the final safety inspection manual soon.

I have written a long thesis on this over at atvutah.com.

There are two threads.
WHAT mods do I need to be street legal Oct 1?
http://www.atvutah.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/Ya … 1209591810
WHERE can I ride Street Legal on Oct 1?
http://www.atvutah.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/Ya … 1209783993

I am in a continuing dialog with the state to get exact details.
I have been promised a copy of the state inspectors handbook, the guide the safety inspector will
use to go over your rig, by July.  If you are not setup according to that book you will be rejected.
Anything else is hearsay.

Be careful what you buy right now.  Vics lights are the wrong color.  Arizona is different than Utah.
You will NOT need DOT approved tires BTW.
