Good to go big_smile .

Yes. I will notify the site administrator on your issue, He is the only one that has that level on this site.

#318 Re: General Arctic Cat Prowler Discussion » how many hours is too many hours to buy a prowler? » 2010-05-13 22:33:41

I know someone that has a 2006  arctic cat prowler xt 650 4x4. It has 1600 hours. is that too much. is the engine completly wore out. Im interseted in buying it but dont know how many hours is too many hours. whats a normal amount of hours on a 2006...... thanks

I agree with Titan on this, It all depends on how it was taken care of. Did they service It well or drove it like a stolen car :?: . You or someone with mechanical know how should check it out before It is purchased to see what condition It really is in   big_smile .

#319 Re: The X Spot » Introduce Yourself! » 2010-05-12 11:02:32

Thanks Titan for the warm welcome.

:?: However, I didn't think that I would be allowed to promote our products on the forum. If I put some pictures on here, then that is promotion. Please let me know about this because that would be great if I could do this.

Thanks.

I do not see any issue as long it is posted in the for sale and want adds section just once but anymore then that I am sure mark wants you to sign up for a sponsorship to promote your products on the site. I normally move all ATV product sales to these threads and delete all none UTV/ATV products off the web site.....

Again the specifications speak for themselves. There is nothing wrong with the 2008 and older rangers, I should know because I own one :!:. Opps it was bound to come out  lol .

IS THAT FLAMING A BRAND THAT  I SEE, ;)REMINDS ME OF A POST ABOUT FLESH BURNS   AND OVERWHELMING HEAT.   BUT I'LL LEAVE NAMES OUT OF THIS. [/b] big_smile  lol
Polaris Ranger, ooopppps  my bad.

tongue Sorry Rangerdale I couldnt help my self. lol It just slipped out roll

No not really flaming any brand but only putting the actual specifications out there that are published to help him in his decision. I had gone through this back in 2004 and I took the specifications of both UTV's and did a side by side comparison and on paper and the ranger won the battle. capp35 ask a question and I can't tell a lie lol  wink .

We all know how many times this question is asked and we all know what happens lol .
The 2009 Ranger had the Heat Issue and was mostly fixed on the 2010 models   big_smile .
Live Long And Prosper wink.

#324 Re: General Polaris Ranger and Polaris RZR Discussions » Ranger 500 will not crank 2005 » 2010-05-07 10:20:46

Wish I was that lucky.  I downloaded a service manual online and ran all the tests in there.  Everything passed except for the computer so I bought one and that was it.  She is running again. pricey fix.

It really is not a computer but a power distribution box called the ECM, (Electronic Control Module). Only the fuel injected models have a computer. Polaris has ran the ECM till around the 2007 model and then changed the design. The ECM's have been known to go bad and are around $240 dollars the last time I checked. There is a fusible link that comes off the starter solenoid that feeds the ECM. It looks like a wire with heat shrink on it but other then that the ECM has thermal breakers in it that are technically not serviceable. It also has a logic board that looks at certain inputs like the all wheel drive button and the transmission selection as well as a timer that stays active for a number of seconds when the key is turned off for your accessory output.

The decision is ultimately up to you but the specifications speak for themselves big_smile .

One thing to remember, all rhino 660 models are carbureted and do not have altitude compensation capability without doing a Jet change, That is normally needed above 7000 feet and they start to run real bad  .

#326 Re: The X Spot » New to the sport, I need help! » 2010-05-06 10:06:08

The Polaris Ranger. below is why....
1. It has a bigger box to Carry stuff in.
2. Has a much higher payload capacity.
3. Has more horse power and torque stock.
4. Has a higher towing capacity.
5. It has more ground clearance.
6. It has a wider track for better roll stability.
7. It has more suspension travel to go over Obstacles.
8. It seats three people from the factory.
9. It has a higher MPH at 44 and 50 depending on year.
10. It has one, Two, and 4 wheel drive shift on the fly, The one wheel option is good for not tearing up the lawn  .
11. Fuel Injection is included on all 700 and 800 Ranger Models.
12. It has a 500 watt charging system.
13. The U.S. military uses them.
14. It is made in the U.S.A. big_smile  wink .

#327 Re: General Polaris Ranger and Polaris RZR Discussions » Ranger 500 will not crank 2005 » 2010-04-29 21:07:49

#328 Re: General Polaris Ranger and Polaris RZR Discussions » Ranger 500 will not crank 2005 » 2010-04-29 09:49:24

First post:  Just replaced the battery but apparently that is not my problem.  Started a few weeks ago it would spin like the starter was not engaging but I knew the battery was weak so I pawned it off on that.  After a while it would not spin at all but seemed to fire right up when jumped.  I jumped it off one day and then about 1/4 mile down the road it died.  Now when you turn the key you can hear the pump, but there are no lights or gear indicators, and it does nothing when turning the key.  I have only had it for 6 months or so.  Any ideas where I should go from here would be appreciated.

Sounds like a bad fuseable link.....

#329 Re: General Polaris Ranger and Polaris RZR Discussions » New Razr owner with problems » 2010-04-28 17:15:53

To answer your question glassman, I have four people with the standard RZR and out of that four three have put there's on the side or roof at least once and the other two had done it twice. A friend of mine with a rhino 660 has had his rolled three times but not all with the same driver. It is all about the wheelbase and the center of gravity as well as driver. The RZR-s has a wider wheelbase along with the Ranger Xp and a much better suspension and is less likely to roll compared to a standard RZR. As for the new 4 seat RZR, I would suspect because of the added weight and no change in the wheelbase width it would be more prone to a roll over but again I have not seen one running around yet.....
