I do not have a RZR but the one I have was set up to be moved from the front to the back of my Ranger. When not in use It sleeps in my side storage compartment......
why do you go by the screen name Razorguy101 when you own one of these :?:, shouldn't you go by the name wolverine101 :?:
.
I thought so too
.....
check the knew razor clone out i bought this machine from http://www.buyatvscheap.com/product-p/800utv.htm
there a few thousand dollars cheaper and stock out of the crete they run 70 mph it also 3 inches wider
this is one heck of a machine even come stock with the wheels
O.k. you have your one plug on this product, I am guessing you are a dealer for this product also but I maybe wrong :?: This leads me to ask the next question :?: . Would you like to become a site sponsor if I guessed right on you being a dealer  :!: .
Well I am guessing that I was correct that he was a dealer and that he does not want to become a site sponsor...

Recently bought a 2010 800xp. It has a lot of slack in the rear differential causing a pop every time I shift between forward and reverse or take off slowly. I took it to my dealer and was told that it was normal. Has anyone had a similar experience?
Unfortunately You have a running gear that is entirely new for the Ranger staring in 2010. At this time I am personally not comfortable with this all in one transmission rear end set up. I am waiting to see all the issues that may come up before I would buy this new generation Ranger. zrated has one and If he does not chime in I would PM him if I were you and see If he has noticed the same problems. maybe he can shed some light on his regarding stuff he liked or disliked before he highly modified his. It would be good info for future buyers.....
I did this on another post and thought it would help if you have not seen it...
The way the Polaris system works on the ranger is when the selector is engaged in the one wheel mode it puts a momentary 12 volts to the rear diff and engages the solenoid and then backs the voltage down just enough to keep the solenoid energized to keep the rear locked in one wheel mode. As long as the solenoid is hot it will stay in one wheel mode till the voltage is completely removed. In two and four wheel modes the ECM removes the voltage to DE-energize the solenoid and puts the rear in two wheel lock mode, I know this sounds backwards but this is how they did it and I do not understand why . I had some issues with the diff on mine not locking into two wheel and i was chasing my tail in circles to find out why and I nearly had to reverse engineer the dang thing to fix the problem. The manual was almost useless on this issue .
Now the way the four wheel system works is even if the AWD switch is on, it is in two wheel mode till the ECM senses wheel slip from the back to the front wheels and within a fraction of a second it locks all 4 wheels, as long as the ECM senses the wheel slip it will maintain 4 wheel lock and then will unlock it back into 2 wheel mode when the slipping stops.
Now for the problem at hand, If the switch is in one wheel drive mode and it jumps into 2 wheel mode for no reason at all you are having voltage issues going to the Solenoid and or the solenoid is going bad, That part is not cheap as with all Polaris traditions . If it jumps into four wheel mode while the switch is in one wheel mode that is either a bad switch or ECM.....

well i tried pushing in the pin IN on the silonoid and leaving it un pluged and still NO locker... i tried leaving the pin Out, and no locker... both positions nothing?????? any other ideas, is there an actuating lever in the rear end could be stuck or something?
Yes there is, you could try to hook onto it and rock the polaris back and fourt and try to pull it toward the outside of the hole. If this does not work you will need to pull the diff and repair the problem.....
ok cool thanks for the info, i will try it tomorrow.... do you know if it will be like a permanent locker, or will it slip for a sec and then kick in?
It should stay locked as long as the plunger is not pushing the detent in.....
RANGER DALE,
Are either of the mods you suggested on the 800's possible for the '02 500??(restrictor plate or clutch limiter)..sorry for changing the topic SUPERSTITION,but you got me wondering.. :?:
No, those mods are only for the 2010 800 rangers. The 2006 and later can not get to much more top speed due to lower transmission gearing.
New guy here! I'm looking to buy a 2010 Ranger 800 XP for driving back roads that are too rough for my truck. Any guess on how far I could go on the 9 gallon tank? Is there any kind of fuel reserve system or do you just run out and stop?
Also, what's the difference between the 800 HD model and the 800 XP? The dealer told me it was just power steering but it's $1,200 more expensive for the 800 HD. The only thing I can think of is it has a hydraulic pump for add on accessories. Anybody know?
Sorry if this was answered before. I did a search on the gas mileage question and saw only one post for an RZR. I'm looking forward to learning about these machines from you guys here

Thanks,
Rich
The mileage varies on how you drive them but they really don't get the best mileage anyways. I could get around 70 miles per tank on mine so figure around 9 mpg. also the one big difference between the H.D. and the XP is the restrictor plate that limits the H.P. to 40 H.P. If it is removed it will have the same H.P. as the standard RZR engine. Also one last thing is to remove the clutch limiter from the primary clutch to get more mile per hour....
so the plunger is not bringing the pin back in you think? if so do you have any good ideas on how to fix it? or how i can just permanatly lock it?i dont need turf mode
To lock it in two wheel mode make sure that the piston is collapsed and disconnect the plug, that should keep it in two wheel mode. Also you can remove the solenoid and find a plug too plug the hole. I don't think you will see any trouble code because the system is too stupid to monitor it being unplugged.....
I have an 07 and no matter what position i put the switch in, it will not lock the rear end, i pulled the solenoid and it extends only when the switch is all the way down, so i know the solenoid works.... Any ideas on answers or info on this?
The solenoid still may be the problem. when the switch is in one wheel mode is when the solenoid is powered for a micro second with 12 Volts and in two and AWD the solenoid retracts and has zero volts. The plunger must move very freely or it will get stuck in one wheel mode on the rear diff. you should hear a very noticeable click when going into one wheel mode. I have had to deal with this issue on more then one occasion and I had to reverse engineer on how it works...
Do not power the solenoid for more then a second with 12 volts or you will damage the solenoid.
Just looking into getting some new wheels (mainly for offset reasons) but am frustrated with the choices. All 12" rims only come 7" wide. I can buy 14" rims that are 6" in front and 8" in back, but am limited to tire selectio. Do spacers put on any more pressure on the suspension than offset wheels?
Thanks.
Spacers do add more stress to the wheel bearings, I personally do not like doing what you are asking of either way but between the two I would go with the offset rims before doing spacers. The only real way to properly widen the stance is a long travel kit but that is much more money......
I took my Titan in for a recall a week ago and they forgot to tighten the skid plate on my gas tank. it was one bolt from falling off. even when it comes to recalls i wish they would just give me the parts and let me do it my self.
