If they can do this they should be able to extend my f350 short bed to accommodate my rzr4

Do we know the route yet?  That's gangster territory, no worse than I guess Subaru territory last year.

Lazy boy me made "star warranty" unbolt my shocks and regrease the bushings in them. For some reason Polaris feels they work best dry and don't do it at the factory.

I am planning on it right now. Like I said before it was highly interesting last year.

Is Mark setting us up with a banner to display this year? More flags?

Who woke him up?  Where you been Jared? Called and called, no reply.

Noone has pulled it off yet that I've heard. Badley and I tried getting across the skyline but there is a slide that stopped us. I would imagine it would be open soon by the forest service now the snow is gone.

The Jacob city ride is fairly short isn't it? Would like to see old ghost towns anyway so a day trip always works too.

I went last year along with a few others and it is very informational and fun. It is amazing to bring so many to one place and to see the train off roaders going into town. The pic of the side by sides look good at the capital too.

#23 Re: General Discussion about Yamaha Rhinos » Funny Smell » 2011-08-02 17:49:25

Hey Guys,
I am new here and just looking for a bit of assistance. I have a 2007 Rhino 660 and after a few minutes of use it develops a funny odor like a clutch burning smell or a brake smell. I dont notice any real loss of power once the smell starts, just the smell. Do any of you guys have any ideas on what it could be.

I am new to side x sides but not new to wrenching. I have raced MX for most of my life and do all of my own repairs and rebuilds. I have built cars and trucks from the ground up.

Thanks in advance for any help guys.
Kmac

Knowing that you understand the engine side of things I would look at the belt or the clutch itself. Pending on condition the clutch could have been ran low on oil. I think that is the only odd smell I had from the rhino besides toasting the belt.

Thinking of trying the south skyline this coming weekend. Two weeks was stopped by a snow drift that should be passable by now, anyone interested?

South skyline runs south above fairview, utah

Truck is home again with the rzr now. I wish Ford would handle things as well as Polaris Star warranty did on a new tranny in the Rzr. Filed a BBB complaint on Ford and they called me the next day. We will see how that works out.

Yes, I am still whining over my problems!

I would not call it whining, just just venting steam lol .....

Anyways this is the most active I seen the forum in the last few weeks big_smile . There has been more spam then members on here lately and nothing else to do :?

Feel guilty highjacking threads. I have a HUGE tendency to go off track.

Anyway Ford denied my turbo, just another 2300 to my 50k truck now. Still cheaper than new, and the mechanic doesn't see much more that could happen except for tranny. Dealer backed up the opinion on other forums that 6.0 and the 6.4 has more repairs unless they are driven a lot. Most with over 100k miles have injector problems due to poor fuel filter maintenance but the EGR coolers and turbo's have less failures.

Same thing here. Ever been without your truck in your garage for two weeks along with your RZR? Someone come get me with their trailer and take me riding.  yikes

Fully agree with you Dale. Main reason that it is at this dealership is they have actually fixed and found issues the other dealer wouldn't look at. They are going back to ford on what was noted on the work order when the truck had 1700, 15k and 24k miles. The first one had the same symptom as I had this time. Turbo failure is partially due to not driving it that much too after researching it. International talks about 6.0 issues and how a ford owner should help resolve them.
