You don't need the compression tool if you have 2 people.  Polaris use to ship new 4 wheelers with the springs off and with 2 people we could get them on pretty quick.

I couldn't tell you the exact cost of the cage as I haven't recieved the bill. I do know that a full race SCORE legal cage runs from about 5500 to 9500 dollars. I Have put about 14000 into this LAST build. That includes the long travel, cage, bumper, light bar, full cell, seats, guages and all accesories to complete the work.

Thanks for looking. I usually don't post prices because of the "talk" that follows but I didn't want you to think I was ignoring you.

Thanks, that's not as bad as I thought it would be.

What's it cost to build a frame like that?

Any weekend you guys want to come up and ride the track let me know.  I'll be in TX for the next 2 weeks but we can work something out after that.  There is also a small offroad park a few miles away we can hit.

You would be surprised. Most of the trails are at least eight feet wide. All trails are at least six feet wide. That video is from one of the rhino guys there. We should have better video after someone gets through editing. Those jumps look pretty lame from that angle.

Sounds like I'll have to come down sometime then.  You need to get a group together and come to Kirksville when we start the UTV Racing.

Let me know when you are in the area. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1_tPsSV8CFA hope to see you at the next one.   Peculiar Mark

Looks fun but I don't know if I'd fit on those trails.

#23 Re: General Polaris Ranger and Polaris RZR Discussions » '02 Ranger Prof. Series TOO SLOW » 2008-09-04 20:41:41

Here is the answer I got in a e-mail

"the newer pro series had a tube going to the top of the carb & then over to a control valve that would limit the amount of travel of the diaghram. depending on what year, some of the pro series 4x4's had 425's & some had 500's engine. if its a 425, then they may need to replace the clutch components (springs & weights) & cdi/ igniter with a 4x2 (non-governed 425); the same would also apply for the 500 governed engine. But basically, there is going to be a control/ solenoid/ valve that limits the diaghram travel---shit-can the hose & seal the diagram cover, &/or replace cover & try that. the cdi may not need to be replaced."

Just don't say anything BAD about Polaris or they will BAN you!!

#25 Re: General Polaris Ranger and Polaris RZR Discussions » '02 Ranger Prof. Series TOO SLOW » 2008-09-03 20:10:04

The professional series were designed to go 25 mph.  I can't remember how they did it (gears, limiter) but I will try to find out.

I am still working in Oregon for the next couple of weeks. I should be home by then.  I think we have a race that weekend so I don't know if I can get to Hannibal then or not.  But we will get together before the 2009 season and see if our track will be any help to you.

I will be back in MO mid Sept.  If you want to talk to one of the other owners stop at Precision Cycle (Polaris & Kawasaki) on E Illinois St. in Kirksville and ask for John.  Tell him Chris sent you.  Or you can contact me at acad54@aol.com
Rockport is a good place to ride, went over there with my Rhino.
