Got my original order today - lost in the mail for 1 1/2 months - just wanted to give USPS all the credit on this screw up. I will pay for these because of the way Jacy handled my order (have a spare set). Again,

#1579 Re: General Discussion about Yamaha Rhinos » New Rhino » 2007-04-03 11:43:00

I am no expert - but I will tell you how I made my decision. I rode motocross in my youth, rent snowmachines occasionally, snow ski and jet ski (99 Sea Doo XP limited). Just about bought a WR450 (me) and TTR230 (wife). My wife has no riding experience, I decided I would break something (46 year old bones) if I had a WR under me. Decided the Rhino was something we could do together and have fun, it has exceeded our expectations. We like being side x side  wink  Stock Rhino will do 40mph - with CDI 45-50+. You won't do a lot of tire spinning, or drifting (although taking it to rolling point might be fun), but it will climb    - exceeded all my expectations. The aftermarket for them is big - you want a Supercharger-Double HP? (you will definately spin the tires)  Lift kits, extended A-Arms, and the list goes on.

Bought a 07' Sport and have spent 2k on accessories - new wheels + radials, CDI, K&N, RAIS TUBE, Exhaust tip and re-jetted - it performs great, it won't spin the tires much unless in loose dirt or sand - I am running 12"  wide Maxis Bighorn radials and they "stick".

Check out the photo Gallery on this site to get a feel for what others are doing. Rhino's are a lot of fun, different than MX - but fun.

That is great - thanks for the video. I ride at Little Sahara occasionally - will try and look you up.

#1581 Re: Rhino Parts and Accessories » New Iron Rhino Design Roll Cage! » 2007-03-31 10:32:00

Looks good Jake. Is it easy to unbolt the front cross members for under bed access? I have seen a cage that is easy to unbolt - 2 bolts at the stock cross member - but they don't look as solid as yours. I would be interested in other bolt on accessories/racks available, or is there just the one? Thanks for the discount offer.

Thanks Max - almost put a deposit down on a RZR.  Signed - "almost a fool"   Decided I didn't want to wait or buy new "bugs". The Rhino more versatile, been around a while, and the aftermarket huge. No regrets. Looking for used one for my son, he has been thinking 450 - told him we will eventually find him a used 660 - within his budget. I would say the 660 for $7500 not a bad deal if the engine and drive train are strong.

I am going to try and  make it out for a little while, will look you up and introduce myself. Pouring some concrete and building a workshop... that may keep me home

#1584 Re: Rhino Parts and Accessories » Yamaha Decals » 2007-03-30 09:53:35

I bought aftermarket wheels and did not like the center cap decal/logo. Loved the sport wheel center caps and the Yamaha "tuning fork" logo that came with the Rhino. I found this company that makes decals and bought 4. My order was lost in the mail - after giving it some time to see if USPS would come through I requested they either send back my money or send it again. They took my word for it and sent the order again - got it in 3 days. Anyway, wanted to post some photos and give this company a plug - often situations like this turn ugly. Jacy a stand up guy...

Work ???  lol  I am new to Rhino's - had mine about 2 months - so I am not the one to give any advice. My son wants a Rhino now and we have not found anything used in our area except 1 06' 660 - it sold in 1 day for $9500 (I paid $10,500 for my Sport new)  roll

LMAO. Love to see the video. Where were you riding?

#1589 Re: Yamaha Rhino Photo Gallery » My Pictures » 2007-03-28 11:37:42

Nice ride Repo! Let me know how the carb tuning goes. I installed the RAIS, K&N, Moutain Extreme CDI, and re-jetted (Dynojet). Plan to go with a bigger exhaust tip, but want it quiet. Having a little trouble dialing in the bottom end...

LOL. My "Chic Mod" an older model and still expensive, but I agree - well worth it!  big_smile
