Awesome long travel kit and supercharger. Any HP ratings/top speed? Do you have a complete parts lists on this Prowler?

Very nice set up. The quality apears to be first rate. I'm sure these are designed for UTV racing. Too bad, I just can't see spending $6,300 plus for ANY suspension kit!   sad

Finally a long arm kit for my beloved Prowler! What is the price of the kit? How much actual travel is gained? How much is the track width? When is the kit available or is this a custom set up?

Where did you get the cage? Did you make it yourself? Costs?? Very nice setup. I  now know I will set mine up for two persons instead of four. Any other mods? Any transmission pronblems? Details! big_smile

Let me know if you guys ever make a kit for the Prowler. Is there a reason the aftermarket does not support the Cat as well as Polaris or Yamaha? Is it design? Or the simple matter of market demand?

Thanks. I'll check it out. I just got back from Glamis last weekend and seriously need some more power. Thx for the info. Keep me posted on any other mods that helps performance.

Nice welds! Do you guys build a long arm kit for the Arctic Cat Prowler?

Where did you buy it and what is the $$?

#9 Re: General Arctic Cat Prowler Discussion » Engine Swap for Prowler » 2008-04-25 13:20:18

Is there anyone out there that has done or knows about swapping the 950 Thundercat engine/trans into the Prowler? I have seen some expensive Rhino mods like street bike engine swaps. Although very trick, they look way too expensive and time consuming to invest in a little UTV. It just seems like the 950 V2 would be a much more effective upgrade. Has anyone made this swap? HP / torque ratings on the 950 V2? Availability and costs of the engine and parts? Pictures?

Thanks for the reply. I'll tear into it and see if I can fix it before it breaks. If you have any pix of where you welded it please post. BTW, Since the fix, any problems coming out of gear?

#11 Re: General Arctic Cat Prowler Discussion » Transmission issue » 2008-03-31 20:53:28

Has anyone had a problem with the transmission jumping out of gear while hauling a**? My last trip to Ocotillo Wells, running down the wash, I kept having to pull over and mess with the tranny to get it to pop back in gear and hold it while I drove. Anyone experience this? Any fixes? Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

#12 Re: General Arctic Cat Prowler Discussion » New Guy question » 2008-03-31 20:48:20

I bought the Prowler just as the Polaris RZR came out. Saved much more $$ and set it up for four people. Still hits 50MPH and handles nice. If your looking for a 2 seater, the Polaris is nice. The prowler has proven to be low maintenance and parts are available. It's the aftermarket that is slow to cath up on the Prowler. It all depends on demand. I like both, but for the family the Prowler made more sense. Have fun which ever way you choose. lol

#13 Re: Prowler Performance Mods » Suspension: long arm or stock? » 2007-11-25 15:11:28

Does anyone make a suspension kit that improves the Prowler's handling? I have only seen OEM replacements shocks, which makes sense since the stock units aren't the greatest. Is a long arm set up the way to go?

Thanks for the advice on the top. Roll cage is friggin' tall. I don't like the roll cage I have now. I am looking for a custom cage to be built. But just like my Jeep, there will always be something to add to it.

I'll let you know when I head out to Superstition Mtn. Maybe around January next year?

Mission Viejo is about 30 miles South of Disneyland in CA. We are about 60 miles North of San Diego, Ca. We ride in Ocotillo, Glamis, Pismo Beach, and Lucerne Valley. We haven't had too much time with the Prowler because I was getting the paint, cage and seats done. Plans include better shocks, doors, a top and different wheels. I'm not sure about a long arm kit, but I am thinking about it.
The interesting part about it, I have not seen many Prowlers here in Southern California. Mostly Rhino's and Polaris' so it's pretty cool to have something different. But my friends have seen my Prowler and are on the hunt to get theirs.
