The neutral switch is mounted on the right side of the case in the form of a detent ball.

For those who have ever tried getting parts or accessories for there Cub UTV, it is frustrating at best.  My front wheel bearing went out and the part quoted was $150 for ONE bearing.  I found bearings from All Balls Racing for around $22.  Don't get screwed on this seemingly difficult to find after market parts for this machine.  I was also able to use a $15 universal rack & pinion boot in place of the $47 Cub part.  All though my machine doesn't go as fast as others; it has been good to me minus the poorly designed transmission which I've split once to change broken 'E' Clips on the shift rod.   If there is an inexpensive way to work or add things to the Cub Cadet Volunteer, I think I've done it.
