#1 Re: General Discussion about Yamaha Rhinos » Oil change and service » 2011-10-07 22:00:26

I am not looking for any breach of copyright, but does anyone have oil change specs and how to info?

I just need to know where all of the oils are located at on the rig, I.E. diffs, engine,trans....etc..and what types of oils I need.

I want to do a full oil oil change and service on my buddies 660 Rhino. I dont have a manual nor can I afford to buy one just for oil changing.
Is there a link to a video or how to post or sticky?

Thanks in advance all.

I havent had time to take it out of the trailer to actually look at it yet, so I am just looking for info on where to start. So thanx Fasttrax.

I am figuring on the belt but I was curious if I would have power loss if the belt was frying? If the belt were slipping enough to start melting it wouldnt it be slipping enough to cause power loss?

I am an MX guy and I know when a bike clutch starts to go enough to smell it, the clutch is slipping bad and has been loosing power for a while.

I am just hoping someone has a good start point. Belt and oil/clutch check will be first up. Anything else I should think about?

Hey Guys,
I am new here and just looking for a bit of assistance. I have a 2007 Rhino 660 and after a few minutes of use it develops a funny odor like a clutch burning smell or a brake smell. I dont notice any real loss of power once the smell starts, just the smell. Do any of you guys have any ideas on what it could be.

I am new to side x sides but not new to wrenching. I have raced MX for most of my life and do all of my own repairs and rebuilds. I have built cars and trucks from the ground up.

Thanks in advance for any help guys.
