But I was assured by many people on another forum that this was not happening to me so I stopped believing my own eyes.

big_smile  That hit me as quite funny tonight! They do move around~ and all those "other people" are in denial.  wink  Remember to always trust yourself!

#1234 Re: General Polaris Ranger and Polaris RZR Discussions » RZR's should be recalled!!! » 2008-10-21 19:34:19

Polaris has also extended your warranty by 18 months on 08-09 Rzr purchased before 9/01/08.

Is there a link or something from polaris stating the extended warranty? I have not received anything by mail and I have not been able to find it on the web.

Thanks!

Jack it up off of the ground untill the tires come off and then adjust. Do the front leaving the rears on the ground and then switch.

WHAT? Your not going to try to sue Polaris like everyone else? lol   Glad to see ya admit it was your fault and not polaris.  big_smile

Hope it heals well and hope you can make it to Moab.

#1240 Re: General Polaris Ranger and Polaris RZR Discussions » HARNESS "STAYS" » 2008-10-19 15:32:24

One of my complaints after installing the SIMPSON 5 point harness set up on my RZR was how they would slide back and forth on the harness bar. I put a little thought into a fix for this and came up with a few ideas. The following is what I chose to do on my RZR and not only does it look good it serves its purpose very well and is very cost effective.

You can pick these up at your local hardware store. They come in different depths and lengths.

This is the length I chose for the size of harness that I run.

Holding a tape measure on the roll cage like below measure over 3" and mark - This is where your first hole for your first harness stay will be located.

Next, holding the tape measure in the same location measure over 14" and mark - This is where your 1st hole for your 2nd harness stay will be located.

Hold up your harness stay to the location of your 1st mark. Have the 2nd hole toward the middle of the machine away from your mark. Place harness stay on the tube toward the bottom and mark both holes (I used a sharpie). Repeat for the 2nd one that you marked at 14" with the second hole away from your mark toward the midde of your machine. Mark holes.

With a punch or a nail, tap on your marks to create a indent to keep your screws from slipping off of the tube.

Self tappers like below work great.

Install harness stays with the self tappers. Should look like this when done.

With harness installed.

Repeat for the other side. Using the same measurements noted above.

THE RESULTS WILL BE A NICE CLEAN LOOK. No more sloppy harnesses!

I used this same process on a stock RZR cage as well as my new FERG FAB cage.

#1244 Re: Rhino Parts and Accessories » 5 POINT HARNESS? » 2008-10-08 20:22:43

Just got off the phone wiht Simpson and ordered the padded D3 restraints (5 point). They definitely were not cheap but I did get a 15% discount (just by asking).  They were $135 a set and ended up being $285 for two with shipping. (Go ahead and tell me I could have got them cheaper somewhere else as I so love buyers remorse) Do any of you have photo's of how to attache the sub belt with stock seats? If so, please post so I can get an idea of where they can be attached.

I will take some pictures for you of my rzr when I get the mud washed off from my crazy weekend and post the pix along with some info on how I did it. IMO 5 points are the only way to go and I highly recomend paying the little extra for the padding. You will love them!

It was easy to understand why the machine behind us didnt stop because it was raining/snowing sooooo hard and our eyes had to be glued onto the road! It was really hard to see...

We did crack an ice cold Mountain Dew after we rolled it back over! Thats the polaris fuel can mount that holds the cooler in.  big_smile

And Brad.... I do what I can to keep you laughing and happy!
