| Anytime I go on a ride over 5 miles my rhino ends up overheating, backfireing and then shutting down. I have to wait for about 30 minutes for it to cool down before it will start again. The problem is that if i am on an uphill when it happens, it usually does it again within about 500 yards. This even happens on the uphill if i wait over an hour for it to cool down. I took it to a mechanic and the only answer he had for me was to get a stronger fan and or radiator. So I dont know if this is normal because of the weight in the rhino or if there is something else wrong. Any advice or suggestions would really help. I have a full cage and usually its me the wife, and two small kids going on rides. |

Have you checked the radiator to see if it is plugged up? That would be my first thought. Does it have any mods? Mine is an 05 with a 4 seat cage and it has never overheated. I make sure to degrease and wash the radiator on a regular basis. _________________ Kyle

Is it showing that the water temp is high or does it just act like it gets hot? Kinda sounds like the ignition coil or voltage regulator to me. They short out inside and get hot and do not deliver enugh charge to the spark plug. The harder the machine is working the hotter they will get. I have seen this alot in generators and ATVs.
Reminds me of an older post about the RZR doing something similar, I dont think there was ever a follow up post to say what the end problem was but it is one thing to check.
If it is a water temp thing check you coolant and flush the system out. Sometime people add the wrong coolant, some coolants can gell up if they are mixed and it will plug everything. Happend to my Ford F150

Mine used to do the same. It was actually a vapor-lock situation . Changed to a high volume fuel pump and solved the problem. the stock pumps are really not a long lasting item. This is assuming your overheat lite isn't comming on and no coolant is pouring out.

| Check the water pump, thermostat, fan and rad cap but if there is some visual of all in the rad it means you have a blown head gasket. |
