Topic: 5 POINT HARNESS?

User: 5

Looking at getting a 5 point harness setup for my rhino before we head off on our Moab trip in October. I know I want something with pads built in and something very comfortable. What do you all suggest to go with and why? Thanks!-JARED

This is what I am looking at at this point. Simpson Racing...What are your opinions on styles---->Sewn~in Latch & LinkOR Latch & Link

They also have this D3 Restraint. It is 40 more bucks than the ones above. They say this about it:"Simpson is proud to introduce one of the biggest innovations in restraint technology since the buckle. Built to meet SFI Safety standards, the D3 provides the ease and convenience of a sewn in harness without the harness being sewn in to the lap belt. Its unique design eliminates two links but still allows the shoulder harness to be joined closely together at the buckle emulating a five point latch and link system"

I did 5 points in mine front and back. BRP will deal on them a little. Use a 1/8 x 3/4 steel flat bar between the front seat bolts to attach the fifth "crotch" point. If I recall they was in various colors as well.

What brand and style did you go with? Do you like the fit, etc?

User: 5

Well I went with the Simpson 5 point latch and link harness with sewn in pads for both sides. I will let ya know how they work out when they arrive in the next day or so.

Sorry that nobody really got you any feedback. I bought Crow belts for mine though and I love them. They also have the sewn in pads, They're just like the top pic you posted. I love these harnesses, i've never had a problem with any rubbing or anything, and i've put mine though a couple of tests already and they work really good....trust me. :D

Interested in how these work... I need to upgrade my 4 points - they suck.

User: 5

You can try mine out this weekend :D I went with the 5 point because of people saying that the 4 point ride up on you up onto your stomache. Is that your complaint Badley? I would think that you could easily add the crotch stap into your system that you have now. What brand are yours?

User: 464

I run 4 point, i have never really had a problem inless they're not ajusted right. Mine look exactly liek the top pic though kryptonite. Theire just crow, the buckle the same way though....

Sorry I didn't get back on the fifth point mounting. It's a simple 1/8" X 3/4" strap with two holes drilled in it for the front seat bolts. The fifth point will wrap around this mounted between the seat and the base... Pics hardly show it.

Just got off the phone wiht Simpson and ordered the padded D3 restraints (5 point). They definitely were not cheap but I did get a 15% discount (just by asking). They were $135 a set and ended up being $285 for two with shipping. (Go ahead and tell me I could have got them cheaper somewhere else as I so love buyers remorse) Do any of you have photo's of how to attache the sub belt with stock seats? If so, please post so I can get an idea of where they can be attached.

Most don't use the fifth point (crotch belt) but I used a 1/8 x 3/4 x 8" steel and mounted it to my seat and base on my rhino. I would assume you could do the same with the fronst seat bolts of a razor.

IMO 5 points are the only way to go and I highly recomend paying the little extra for the padding. You will love them!
